Where Does 10 Years Go?

 IMG_1954

This time in 2007 Keith and I were boldly going where no ‘eejit’ had gone before in an attempt to run the first Colonsay Folk Festival.
10 years on we are delighted to announce our final guests for 2017.

‘Inyal’ are  a young band putting a fresh face on a traditional sound. They are fronted by the highly regarded fiddler ‘Robbie Greig’ who has been a regular visitor to Colonsay playing with local musician ‘Caitlin McNeill’ in Canach and who has recently released a well received solo album ‘Robbie Greig and Friends.’
‘MecLir’ are another young band, this time hailing from the isle of Man. Again, their music is original and lively with a modern feel.
Piper Lorne MacDougall has been a regular visitor to Colonsay and to the festival over the last 10 years and this year he is bringing a group of musicians to reprise his solo performance first performed at Celtic Connections in 2014. One of Scotland’s leading pipers, Lorne has found fame playing in the highly successful film “Brave” as well as touring with the evergreen “Tannahill Weavers”

Unfortunately due to funding issues the musical theatre we had hoped to present on Tuesday night have had to cancel BUT there will be music…watch this space.
Local artists, food…a “taste of Colonsay”; what are you waiting for?
Tickets are available in various ways, the easiest is to BACS us the dosh, see ‘tickets’.
