PROJECT SMOK

Who are they?

Project Smok is the neo-trad trio of Ali Levack, Ewan Baird and Pablo Lafuente. Their unique sound is a combination contemporary new-age pop intertwined with their traditional roots and the result will amaze and astound listeners. With tunes built around the distinctive piping of BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year 2020 Ali Levack, paired with Ewan Baird’s skilled bodhran playing and Pablo Lafuente’s nuanced guitar, electric guitar and production, the trio manage to naturally bring together an array of musical aspects. Throw in instrumental virtuosity, blistering drive, infectious rhythm and a delicate sensitivity and you have Project Smok’s thirst-quenching sound.

Why bring them to Colonsay?

To bring the house down! These guys have earned themselves quite the reputation as one of the most exciting bands in the country and we want a taste of it! After the release of their debut EP “Horizons”, they quickly became a crowd favourite wherever they go. Their debut album “Bayview” blew us away and we knew we had no option but to bring them to our special wee festival.

When can I see them?

They will be performing on either the Friday or Saturday evening and hopefully be giving us many a tune in the hotel as well!

How do I get to see them?

By purchasing a ticket of course!  Festival passes for Ceòl Cholasa 2022 are £100. Click on the tickets page to see all the options. The full weekend pass gains you entry to all the concerts in the hall, the stomping late night Ceòl Ceilidh and the workshops. It also entitles you to a seat at hotel gigs (though this is strictly first come, first served).

Remember, Ceòl Cholasa is a limited, bijou event. It’s best to purchase your ticket as soon as possible as then you can rest assured that you will be one of a maximum of only 250 people attending the best wee music festival in the west!
